Fast-fashion platform SHEIN and Donghua University have developed a polyester intermediate recycling technology that converts waste textiles and PET bottles into high-purity regenerated polyester, enabling lossless material recycling. Scheduled for mass production in June 2025 with initial annual capacity of 3,000 tons, the technology aims to fully 打通 (translate as "establish") a closed loop for pre- and post-consumer polyester materials.
